From the parking area continue to walk down the gravel road until you reach the gate that begins the Blackwater Canyon Rail Trail. At the gate drop down over the hill on the left hand side to get the Douglas Falls. Sediment from the abandoned coal mine has turned the rocks a bright orange which adds an interesting look to this 30ft waterfall. I continued to walk down the worn path to take photos of the falls and rocks below the falls.
Directions: From Thomas take WV-32 north 0.1 mile then turn right onto Douglas Road CR-27 an follow it for 1.0 mile. Turn left onto Rail Falls Road. Follow it for 1.0 mile to a small parking area on the left.
